Meet Dave Henslee

Dave Henslee has an impressive list of credentials that qualifies him to serve the citizens of Klamath, Jackson, and Deschutes Counties.  As the owner of a family cattle ranch, local government leader, and retired Chief of Police, Mr. Henslee has proven himself as a dedicated and compassionate community leader.

Dave's priorities include:

• Ensuring exceptional public safety: As a former Klamath Falls Chief of police, I am committed to supporting law enforcement, investing in crime prevention programs, and promoting community policing initiatives – especially in the wake of recent Measure 110 reform policies.
• Enhancing the economy while prioritizing local businesses: Fostering the growth of local businesses through targeted incentives, reducing burdensome regulations, and promoting economic development initiatives tailored to the unique needs of our region is essential for building resilient and vibrant communities.
• Responsible and beneficial management of natural resources: Prioritizing conservation, sustainable practices, and supporting industries such as forestry and agriculture is critical for preserving our environment, supporting economic growth, and ensuring the well-being of current and future generations.
• Protecting our local food supply: As a rancher myself, I am a steadfast advocate for policies that prioritize the interests of local farmers and producers, including access to affordable land, water resources, and agricultural infrastructure in order to protect our local food supply and support the vitality of our agricultural communities.
• Workforce development and enhancement: Providing access to quality jobs and opportunities for career advancement is essential for driving economic growth and ensuring prosperity for all Oregonians. Collaboration between educators and employers, through apprenticeship programs and incentives for employers, is critical for ensuring that our workforce is equipped with the skills needed to succeed in the modern economy.
• Addressing the need for housing and homelessness: I prioritize initiatives that empower local communities and leverage market forces to increase the supply of affordable housing, recognizing that local governments are best equipped to develop tailored solutions for their residents' unique needs and challenges. Through these solutions we can address the need for housing and homelessness in a way that respects individual dignity and promotes long-term solutions.
• Advancing South-Central Oregon at the state and federal level:  I am devoted to advocating for infrastructure investments, securing funding for key projects, and representing the interests of our communities in legislative and regulatory matters. I was raised in Jackson County and now call Klamath County home. I have proven myself as a dedicated and passionate leader, focused on the needs of those I serve.
