Dave Henslee announces candidacy for Klamath County Commissioner, Position #1

This morning at approximately 8 AM, former Klamath Falls Chief of Police, Dave Henslee officially filed candidacy paperwork with the Klamath County Clerk seeking election to fill the Klamath County Commissioner Position #1 seat being vacated January 10th, 2022 by Donnie Boyd.

Mr. Henslee has an impressive list of credentials that qualifies him to serve the citizens of Klamath County as a County Commissioner, overseeing the county’s multi-million-dollar budget and in providing leadership to those employed to serve the community.

Over his 27 year career in Law Enforcement, Mr. Henslee earned many promotions ultimately serving nine years as an executive where he was responsible for developing and managing multi-million dollar budgets. Here in Klamath Falls, Mr. Henslee has received awards and recognition from political, business, and community leaders for leadership and achievements in providing public safety to our community.

In addition to his highly successful career in public safety, Mr. Henslee and his family started a small cattle operation, 5H Cattle Company, just outside of Merrill, OR they have been growing since 2017.

In announcing his candidacy, Mr. Henslee said, “I love this community and I love public service. Over the course of my nearly 30 year career, I have accumulated the professional tools, knowledge, and experience needed to effectively serve the citizens of Klamath County as one of the three chief executives that make-up the Board of County Commissioners. I will be able to hit the ground running from day one. I am committed to doing everything I can to make certain our community is well represented right here at home, but also in influencing the politicians in Salem and Washington DC to get out of our way so we can continue embracing the natural resource and rural way of life that makes Klamath the very special place it is.”
